Description
Photo of a baby blue jay, taken in my backyard. Blue jays are beautiful birds, but they sure can be mean!
Blue jays are highly beneficial to the flora and fauna in their ecosystem: their characteristic 'jay' call warns other birds of predators, and their fondness of acorns is credited with spreading oak forests across North America. The blue jay is a passerine bird in the family Corvidae, native to North America. It is resident through most of eastern and central United States, although western populations may be migratory. Blue jays live in deciduous, coniferous and mixed forests throughout the eastern and central areas of the United States, and southern Canada.
This is a painterly rendition of my original photograph, with various digital effects.

They are mean, Lisa! One of my earliest childhood memory was sitting on the back patio eating my breakfast when a blue jay swept down and stole it! Gorgeous image! Your beautiful image has been featured by Wild Birds Of The World. L/F
