Description
I took this photograph while bird watching on my porch. My favorite time of year is when the leaves on the trees and the redbuds start budding! This is a Cardinal, the Virginia state bird. Cardinals, in the family Cardinalidae, are passerine birds found in North and South America. They are also known as cardinal-grosbeaks and cardinal-buntings.
This is a painterly rendition of my original photograph, with various digital effects.
